Sunset in Oregon

My love affair with Oregon has officially begun. After a very long very beautiful week of shooting for a project I’m smitten. I can’t tell you much about the shoot yet because it is part of a branding effort that is still going through some behind the scenes work before a launch but I can share a few pictures from what we worked on in the mean time. Thanks to a few precious minutes of sun you would never know that it was actually around 30 degrees and gusty for these!

This bright and colorful wedding took place overlooking the water by Clearwater beach. So many of the details and plans for the day were put together with love by friends and family that it made even small simple details of the day become special and sentimental. It was a gorgeous day until just after we started the bridal party portraits it absolutely poured down rain and we all ran for cover. We didn’t let a little rain stop us though, I pulled out some lighting and had some fun with dramatic portraits until it passed over and we were able to get the last little bit of sunset. They shared their first kiss together at the alter and celebrated by dancing the night away with friends and family.

This beautiful mama to be asked me to create a custom dress for her session after seeing some of the previous ones I’d done. She said that she loved pink so much that even her wedding dress was blush pink so I found this gorgeous color and got sewing. The weather was amazing and we watched the most beautiful sunset as we shot, I left the session feeling overjoyed at getting to be a photographer – I really am pretty blessed.

I’m thrilled for Tiffany and can’t wait to see their beautiful baby girl when she arrives!

Rana and Danny have become dear friends to us this past year and it was wonderful celebrating and capturing their special day. Rana put so much thought into every single detail, there was a lot of love and work put into the planning. The wedding was held outside at a beautiful private residence on the water and the day ended up being quite cold and windy but what I loved so much about it was that Rana never once seemed upset or anxious. I think that when you find the right one to spend the rest of your life with it overcomes everything else. Come rainstorm, wind, snow, sweltering heat or any other part that wasn’t in the plan, it is still the happiest day of your life because you are marrying your best friend. This is the kind of love that they have and it was so beautiful to watch her giddy and grinning ear to ear all day celebrating becoming his wife.

Rana said that she knew very early on that Danny was right for her and she started keeping journals about it and all of their memories to give to him at their wedding, a very special gift for a very special day. Here are some of their beautiful moments and details…
